Fringe Test Night 2025

Play Full is back to offer a sneak peek at some of the fantastic work being created locally for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2025.

Come along and watch these Scotland-based theatre artists test out excerpts of their upcoming Edinburgh Fringe shows:

  • Cardstock (Mujian Theatre) Two women. One story. A thousand folds between them.Cardstock unfolds a sharp, lyrical investigation into authorship, fantasy, consent, and the unintended weight of being heard.Pressed. Wrinkled. Folded. But standing.
  • Fatherless Monster (Insane Odds Productions) Kyle is just like any other wannabe stand up star. Handsome, charming, complex relationship with his dad. He’s also made up of dead bodies. Get to know “Frankenstein’s Monster” like never before.
  • Nick it for Munich (Aric Hanscomb-Ryrie and Aaron Clason) A 2025 Keep It Fringe bursary winner, Nick it for Munich is a riotous, big-hearted solo show about one lad’s chaotic mission to reach Euro 2024. Blending bold comedy and iconic tunes, it explores masculinity, class, and belonging- all through a fast-paced, high-energy lens that’s both hilarious and heartfelt.
  • Perfect Dead Girls (Audaciously Tenacious Theatre) Two teenage girls are trapped in limbo with only one thing they know for sure: something is always watching. A gruesome yet tender exploration of girlhood, this collage of memories, movement, and Y2K pop culture questions how young women survive in systems that ask them to tear each other down.
  • Seltzer Boy (Connor McKenna) Who doesn’t love a good fizzy beverage? ‘Seltzer Boy’ is a one-man dark comedy which explores male body issues and disordered eating. Join Seltzer Boy on his carbonated journey as he reflects on his delicate relationship with his body, what he puts in it, and why.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Audience members will get the opportunity to offer feedback to the artists in sticky note form (as a Play Full theatre event staple). The performances will be followed by a Q&A with representatives from the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society’s Participant Services Team joining us as special guests to answer all your questions about taking part in the Fringe.

The night will be an opportunity to connect with artists ahead of August. It will be open and friendly with plenty of conversations about how best to navigate the Fringe as an artist. All are welcome so please come along!
